Unexpected Tears

Yesterday Tyler was eating an apple and kept saying "ow, that hurts."  He told me he had a "little bit loose tooth"  and sure enough one his bottom teeth is just the tiniest bit loose.  Katie is pretty jealous (and she probably has a while to wait since she didn't even get any teeth until she was one), and Tyler is super proud that he is like the big six year olds in his class.  I teared up as they were having the "tooth fairy" conversation, inexplicably.  I guess it is just another reminder that my "babies" are no longer babies!  Tyler said he doesn't think he believes in the Tooth Fairy so when the time comes we"ll have to remind her to be extra stealthy!

The kids are studying the Olympics this week and having a lot of fun with it.  Katie has been skating around the whole house in her socks and told me she is going to win a gold in dancing in the Olympics when she is older and proceeded to show me her routine.  I didn't burst her bubble that random dancing and leaping isn't actually an Olympic event! 

They have also been working on projects where they write three facts about someone they know.  Tyler wrote about B-Bob for his homework assignment, but in class he was told to draw a picture of an Olympian and write some facts about them.  One of Katie's facts about Tyler was that he is the "best artist" and to prove it she went to show me his "Shaun White" drawing in his backpack.  His rendition of Shaun White on the half-pipe is pretty good! 

His three facts about B-Bob, though, were even cuter.  He said he was funny, strong and drives boats - pretty accurate!
