The 4 Year Check-Up

The kids had a good doctor visit.  Perfect hearing and vision, seem to be on track in developmental areas (although the lack of staying dry at night was mentioned as an issue), and growing as expected.  They are both still right around the 15th percentile in height and weight, but on the curve they are doing well.  Tyler is 38.5 inches tall and 35 pounds.  Katie is 37.75 in height and weighs 33 pounds.  They are small, and of course we already knew that, but growing appropriately so that's good.  They are still on track for Katie to be about 5 foot 2 inches when she is an adult, and Tyler about 5 foot 8 inches.

They each got 5 shots today, too :(.  Poor Tyler was so scared throughout the appointment because he overheard us discussing whether or not to do the 5 year shots now or next year (we opted for now because insurance wouldn't cover it if we needed to do it before school less than a year from now and they said that kids get more resistant as they get older and they get more difficult).  Katie was a champ with not even a whimper throughout, but Tyler was crying and told the nurses that it hurt "more than a pinch.  We went for ice cream as a special treat afterward, though, and they both thought that was a good trade-off.  We also got Tyler's hair cut and he talked the stylist into giving him a mohawk!

Katie may be short, but she makes up for it with pure sass!

Tyler's interpretation of the face that goes with wearing a mohawk!
